A Shared Thread Across Time
With Norse historian Sturla and Indian traditionalist Umā This evening offers a rare, live exchange between two ancestral lineages of oral transmission, showing how cultural meaning endured across generations of ceremonial, transformative and narrative change.
Sturla traces Norse myths in history through recent genetic findings, examining how migrations, geography and societal shifts shaped Nordic myth and ritual memory. Umā shows how ritual responded to the collapse of priestly lineages and purity by preserving essential elements of sequence and sound, while internalizing practice.
Together, they explore how memory and meaning within myth, ritual, and transmission persisted across millennia. From dragon slayers to awakening primal forces, from Aesir, Vanir and seiðr to Asuras, Vanara and mastery—this conversation will reveal how ancestral systems maintained a tight weave without losing the thread.
