This is a full audience rehearsal of The Great Ball at Satan’s ahead of its opening at Lilith Performance Studio. During the evening, Kira Nova and the Lilith team will run the performance with an audience for the first time in Malmö — testing the music, movement, games, food, drinks, technical cues and encounters that make up the Ball.
For approximately 2 hrs, The Great Ball at Satan’s throws you into a conducted mix of music, movement, games, food, drinks, and other human beings. Yes, you have to talk to them. Part party. Part theater. Part social experiment. No substances needed. Alcohol available — we’re not insane.
Come alone, come with friends. You’ll lose them anyway. This is not a sit-and-watch situation. You move, you play, you participate. The ball is conducted by Kira Nova, who will spend 2 and a half hours turning a room of adults back into five-year-olds. Spiritually. Please remain legally responsible for yourself.
Formal — or dress like you’re going to your least favorite cousin’s wedding. You want to look good. You just don’t want anyone thinking you tried.
The Great Ball at Satan’s is an immersive performance. It contains adult themes, suggestive humor, and simulated nudity through prosthetic body parts however there is no actual nudity and no sexual activity of any kind. This is an interactive event, but you are never required to touch anyone or be touched. Ask before initiating physical contact. Respect a “no” immediately. You are always free to decline an invitation, sit something out, or step away. —Kira

Kira Nova (b. 1982, Lithuania) works across dance, physical theatre, Butoh, and stand-up. Her practice moves between the sensual and the satirical, where carefully constructed situations allow unpredictability to emerge.
