Japanese Taiko Drumming for Kids – Play, Move, and Feel the Rhythm

Come and try Japanese taiko – traditional Japanese festival drums – in a playful and energetic way!

Children can try Japanese taiko through rhythm, movement, and drumming in a playful and energetic way.

Participants will take turns trying the drums together and experience the joy of creating powerful sounds and rhythms with the body.

Taiko has its roots in Japanese festivals and is traditionally played together in groups with energy and community spirit.

No previous experience is required — just bring curiosity and energy!

Children participate together with parent or another adult.

Suitable for children approximately 7–13 years old.

Language: English, with simple Swedish guidance.

Instructor

The workshop is led by Maki Kobayashi, founder of The Zenjo and leader of Stockholm Taiko. She brings authentic Japanese taiko experience to Sweden through an engaging and accessible approach.
