DJ Stingray 313 carries forward the spirit of Detroit’s most radical techno traditions, from the Belleville Three and Underground Resistance to the submerged, militant futurism of Drexciya. Like those before him, he cultivates mystique as much as intent. Known offstage as Sherard Ingram, he appears exclusively behind a balaclava, keeping identity secondary to purpose. His sound reflects a harsher vision of the city that shaped him. Industrial, dystopian, and confrontational. Music that feels welded to collapsing infrastructure, machines under strain, metal grinding against metal. It is uncompromising club music, forged in Detroit during the 1980s while DJing in MC club environments, developing his craft alongside contemporaries such as Moodymann. Now based in Berlin, DJ Stingray 313 has become an even more recognized and feared presence on the global club circuit.
