Sophie May (FR) Workshop Hiphop

Multidisciplinary creative & Martinican native, Sophie May draws inspiration from a diverse range of artistic circles. Her journey began as a dancer after years being passionate by dance and more precisely by hip-hop culture. Jobs & experiences lead her to meet new people & work in other art circles. From experimenting through personal projects to working as an artistic director & director for others, she aspires to bring her reflections to life the rawest way possible, no matter the form. By combining her unique knowledge and skills to create something truly special, Sophie May’s singularity and sensibility shine through in every piece she creates, leaving a lasting impression on all who experience her work.

Sophie May has been dancing since her childhood. Although she initially evolved as an autodidact in her homeland, she subsequently trained in Paris at the Juste Debout School, from which she graduated 3 years later. This training will allow her to become versatile and learn from great dancers like Tip-Top & Icee to name a few. She’s now teaching herself in the JDS program and gives workshops through Europe. If hip-hop is definitely her first and forever love, she developed a real passion for house and ballroom culture, which have since become integral to her artistic expression.

About the workshop

The workshop are open level which means all levels are welcome. But it will not be suitable for beginners therefore we recommend some dance experience. Not particularly in the same style as the workshop.

The workshops will be held in english.
