Fresh off the wave of acclaim for Spectral Evolution — which landed on countless AOTY 2024 lists — Rafael Toral returns with a new live chapter. Guitar Concert is both a deep dive and a high beam: a luminous stretch through four decades of electric guitar inquiry.

Built around the harmonic radiance of Traveling Light (a companion album to Spectral Evolution), this concert reanimates key coordinates from Toral’s vast discography. From the spatial meditations of Sound Mind Sound Body to the tension-release dynamics of Violence of Discovery and Calm of Acceptance, each performance is a one-off constellation — anchored by structure, lit by improvisation. New material like Layers enters the fold, extending the dialogue between clarity and chaos, resonance and rupture. This isn’t a look back — it’s a rehearsal for the future. Guitar Concert is modular, fluid, and in active evolution: a risky, rewarding encounter with the guitar as signal, symbol, and vessel. It’s part quiet invocation, part raw transmission, where gesture and tone become language. Toral continues his pursuit of a music that listens back — where precision meets vulnerability, feedback sings, and each note is both an echo and an opening.

Support: Kuantinuum This mysterious Malmö act has yet to write a bio, that’s how fresh they are! Watch this space. Support: Tyler Friedman Tyler Friedman operates at the edge of sonic fiction and signal flow, where modular synthesis becomes a language for both disruption and divination. His solo work filters late-2000s techno through the abstract lens of downtown minimalism, rendered in generative patterns and alternate tunings. Releases on Kontra-Musik and Protection sketch a practice that’s as much about texture as it is about theory—equal parts feedback system and metaphysical inquiry. His collaborations with the Otolith Group and Andreas Greiner scale this into multichannel installations and speculative ecosystems, channeling Drexciyan cosmologies and sentient plant life. Friedman’s upcoming double LP METLASR (Radicant_Editions, March 2026) charts new harmonic terrain with FM synthesis and microtonal idiophones.
