Valby Vokalgruppe returns with SOLIDS FOR VOICES — a new album landing November 7, 2025 via Hands in the Dark. Stripped of excess, sharpened to its core, the group dives deep into rhythmical architectures built solely from the voice — an instrument both ancient and inexhaustibly modern.

These new pieces are compressed, glistening forms — dense vocal geometries that spin, collide, and dissolve through repetition. From inside the circle: radical precision, soft dissonance, and playful intuition guide the way. The group explores the voice not as melody alone, but as material — vibrating, modulating, refracting. Think Platonic solids reimagined as sound objects. Think trance without electronics. SOLIDS FOR VOICES marks a return to origin, yet never still.

With a line-up including Lil Lacy, Sonja LaBianca, Anja Jacobsen, and new member Laura Marie Madsen, the ensemble continues to shift and reconfigure itself. Their past works have sprawled into installations, lectures, and performance scores — from museums to festivals to ritualistic space. But here, the voice becomes enough again. Pure yet not simple. A kind of invisible archaeology of the now.
