The first Lucia Ball was arranged in 1917 by students within the Natural Sciences Faculty Club and has since then become an annual tradition at Stockholm University, now with Stockholm University Student Union (SUS) at the helm. Every year on December 13, alumni, students and Nobel Laureates dress to the nines and come together for an unforgettable night filled with laughter, singing, excellent entertainment and dancing.

For those who attend the Lucia Ball, there's an opportunity to have predrinks with other fellow attendees at the Evening of The Ants. And after the ball, there are two official after parties: the Evening of The Frogs, which offers guests a traditional Swedish Christmas buffet, and the Evening of The Owls where guests can enjoy a drinks and dancing.

  • The Lucia Ball will be held at the venue Rotundan in Allhuset at Stockholm University.

  • All food served at the banquet will be lacto-ovo vegetarian.

  • Doors open at 18:44 and the banquet will commence at 19:30. The banquet will end at around 00:00 and will be followed by dance, led under the orchestra Kårsdraget, until 01:00.

  • Dress code: White tie with academic orders.
