"We Were The Ark" is a film about The Ark but also a film about friendship. It is the story of how six guys from the forests of Småland transform their exclusion into success and make a big breakthrough. About how the priest's son and singer Ola Salo launches his Ark to preach his own religion, while at the same time he is forced to ask himself whether he himself can live up to the messages. The band inspired an entire generation of fans, but also provoked just as many, with their glam rock style and groundbreaking message. We get to know The Ark in depth through never-before-seen clips and their own stories and see what happens to a group of friends when they encounter success, attention, temptation, failure and division - and a reunion. It is a poetic and thought-provoking story about the band's journey over three decades - from its formation in 1991 in Rottne, Småland, through the breakthrough in 2000 and the breakup in 2011 to the reunion tour in 2022. The documentary "We Were The Ark" gives a new picture of one of Sweden's greatest bands of all time and will premiere in theaters on February 27.
