ATONEMENT Several hard rock bands emerged in Stockholm during the chaos of the pandemic, but Atonement stood out from the crowd like a sharpened spear with their distinctive and exceptionally raw thrash-black sound. These days, some members of the trio can also be seen in other bone-crushing bands such as** Mutation** and Templar, but it is from Atonement they originate—and it is Atonement that remains the focus heading into 2026. The band’s second full-length album is currently in the works, and the underground audience is holding its breath…
DISARRAY Just like when thrash was new, it's a global crisis that underlies the new wave of young bands that blend the ethos of punk with the technical dexterity of the metal genre. The difference now is that the very epicenter of the movement has moved significantly closer to the mental precipice where climate crisis, pandemics, AI threats and terror wars make it impossible to numb one's anxiety with video games or drugs. If Sweden became a hub for death metal when the decadent yuppie era of the 80s was on the autopsy table, Disarray was born right into the galloping chaos and disorder that defines a world in a state of dissolution. During the fall of 2025 Disarray released a new EP, The Darkening. A relentless attack of raw technical aggression that has received top reviews among the metal community both in Sweden and abroad.
VENTHIAX Hailing from Sweden, VENTHIAX are a speed / thrash metal band that was formed in March 2021 with the goal of becoming the loudest and most ruthless metal band in the region of Huskvarna / Jönköping. The band consists of bass-player Wendy Juneström, who also creates and distributes the old-school thrash metal fanzine Black Pages since 2019; guitarist Viggo Heinonen, who also played in the black metal band Pyrrha; and drummer Emil Borg, who is recognized as the roaring percussionist, embracing the true old-school spirit when whipping the toms. Thus armed, VENTHIAX let free a flurry of releases, including a first demo, EP, and not one, but two live albums.
