Following his acclaimed show Dalaapan, comedian Isak Jansson returns with a performance that ventures beyond the well-trodden paths of stand-up. A funny, moving and deeply human (and occasionally surreal) collection of stories accompanied by original music composed by pianist Manfred Hulebo.
Three Stories and a Funeral consists of four finely crafted stories: Tin Figures, The Space That Was Never Filled, The Icarus Point and Harald. Together they form a tragicomic exploration of grief and longing, connected through unexpected elements such as drone accidents, Warhammer and a community notice board.
About Isak Jansson Isak Jansson is a stand-up comedian, podcaster and screenwriter. In recent productions such as Quick – A Comedy Show (2019) and Dalaapan (2023), he has increasingly explored storytelling beyond the traditional stand-up format. With Three Stories and a Funeral, he takes another step away from the genre and gives the stories themselves more room to breathe. Winner of Comedian of the Year at the Swedish Stand-Up Gala in 2020, Isak also hosted Sweden’s largest role-playing podcast, Rollspelsklubben, between 2017 and 2023. He is the author of the audiobook novel En Svensk Dödsstråle and the short story collection Säga Snälla Saker (2023). The music is composed by Manfred Hulebo, whom Isak met while both were performing with the Swedish Armed Forces’ field artists in Mali. Hulebo works as a composer and musician.
