FULLFJÄDRAD is the title of the Swedish Chamber Choir’s beautiful program for the National Day weekend. Beloved spring classics are interwoven with songs about birds and the joy of flight.The program is elevated even further by violinist Ava Bahari, Artist-in-Residence with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra—an international virtuoso of the highest caliber—who performs with the Swedish Chamber Choir for the very first time.
Together, they present one of the most beloved masterpieces of classical music: Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending. This breathtakingly beautiful work is inspired by the skylark rising into the sky in song. The choir also performs music by Mendelssohn, Ravel, and Larsson, and concludes the program with Eric Whitacre’s imaginative flight fantasy, Leonardo Dreams of His Flying Machine. All of it is presented with charm, wit, and a twinkle in the eye.
