Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater – a Baroque journey in two voices
From intimate duets to one of the Baroque’s greatest masterpieces
Anyelín Diaz – soprano Charlotta Huldt – mezzo-soprano
In the intimate and resonant Baroque Hall, two voices guide the audience through a carefully shaped musical journey.
The programme opens with expressive Baroque duets – music of intimacy, contrast, and emotional depth – before culminating in Giovanni Battista Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, one of the most iconic works of the 18th century.
Composed in 1736, only weeks before Pergolesi’s death, Stabat Mater is a work of striking beauty and emotional intensity. Moving between fragile lament and luminous clarity, it stands as a timeless reflection on grief, compassion, and the human condition.
Anyelín Diaz and Charlotta Huldt bring a deeply personal and refined interpretation to this music, shaped by sensitivity to text, breath, and affect. Their voices meet in a close, almost tactile musical dialogue, where every phrase is alive with presence and meaning.
Performed in its original two-voice setting, Stabat Mater unfolds with remarkable transparency and immediacy. The result is an experience that is both intimate and powerful – where the distance between performer and listener dissolves.
A rare opportunity to encounter Baroque music at its most direct, human, and moving.
