Jazz, laughter, and warmth — all in the spirit of Sonya Hedenbratt!

The Göteborg Jazz Orchestra (GJO) joins forces with Viktoria Tolstoy for a vibrant performance inspired by the city’s iconic jazz voice and revue queen, Sonya. Timeless classics like “Låt hjärtat va mé” and “Ål av mig” (“All of Me”) are reimagined in full big band style — brimming with swing, soul, and top-tier musical flair. Expect a seamless blend of heartfelt moments, playful humor, and irresistible charm. GJO and Tolstoy share a deep joy in making music together, making this tribute to Sonya a natural and inspired choice.

Viktoria Tolstoy — a truly remarkable voice and performer — is one of the leading names in jazz, both in Sweden and internationally. She has been described as “a completely natural talent, someone who understands everything in an instant.” and “…someone you genuinely enjoy being around, on and off stage — which makes all the difference. Her laughter is legendary, as is her sense of humor.

Göteborg Jazz Orchestra is one of the most exciting forces in Swedish jazz today. With a meteoric rise, this big band has quickly established itself at the highest level. Driven by a love for jazz and musical exploration, they eagerly seek out new expressions, collaborate with top artists both nationally and internationally, and happily blur the lines between genres and formats.

Duration: approx. 80 minutes, no intermission

A warm welcome to an evening filled with music, laughter, and plenty of heart!
