CULT OF LUNA AT STAGE
On 23 January, Cult of Luna take the stage in their hometown of Umeå. With support from Norna, expect an evening of crushing heaviness, darkness and intensity.
Blending hardcore, sludge metal and atmospheric soundscapes, Cult of Luna create music that moves between quiet restraint and overwhelming force. Their uncompromising drive to explore new territory has made them one of heavy music’s most distinctive acts.
Their tenth studio album, In the Shadow of Your Shadow, explores loss, grief and mortality. Crushing riffs meet an expanded musical palette, featuring guest appearances from Gojira’s Joe Duplantier and David Eugene Edwards of 16 Horsepower and Wovenhand. This is a band that keeps moving forward; relentless and without compromises.
Support: Norna
Swedish-Swiss trio Norna brings together Tomas Liljedahl, formerly of Breach and The Old Wind, with Christophe Macquat and Marc Theurillat of Ølten. Raw vocals and a dense, heavy sound place them somewhere between sludge, doom and post-hardcore. Their ambition is simple: maximum heaviness with minimal means.
