Hans is a shy young man on the autism spectrum who has always dreamed of having a girlfriend. When he moves into an assisted living facility, he meets Sophie—outgoing, spirited, and fresh out of a psychiatric hospital. Despite a disastrous first date, an unexpected romance blossoms. However, the relationship sparks conflict involving Hans’s neurotic family, Sophie’s overprotective father, and the facility staff, who have had enough of Sophie’s acting out.
