Monica Zetterlund – "A Lingon Twig in a Cocktail Glass" , a phrase coined by Swedish Tage Danielsson.

Monica Zetterlund – took to the world’s biggest jazz stages and performed with some of the greatest names in jazz history. Every year, The Monica Zetterlund Society keeps her memory alive with a tribute concert featuring some of Sweden’s top jazz artists.

This year’s concert is led by pianist, arranger, and longtime Monica expert Calle Bagge, and features the incredible Isabella Lundgren and Bo Sundström. Together, they bring us a warm and heartfelt musical journey through Monica Z’s life – full of love, elegance, and top-level musicianship.

Isabella Lundgren – Known for her amazing voice and presence – has a deep connection to Monica’s musical style and spirit. A long-time friend of both the bandleader and her fellow artists, this countless-times awarded singer is perhaps best described with a quote:"This divinely gifted singer is among the best things to have happened to the Swedish jazz scene. Let me just say that Isabella Lundgren possesses a seriousness that is unique. She somehow makes time slow down just by being..." – Dan Backman, Svenska Dagbladet

Bo Sundström - Frontman of Bo Kaspers Orkester, has written lyrics for the band’s jazz-influenced music for years and released two solo jazz albums to critical acclaim. As a close friend of Isabella’s and someone with a natural connection to Monica Zetterlund’s world, joining this tribute show was a no-brainer. It’s a musical celebration of the early 1960s – when cool jazz was at its peak.

Göteborg Jazz Orchestra - One of the most exciting jazz collectives in Sweden today. In just a short time, this big band has skyrocketed to the top of the scene. With a deep love for jazz, they’re always exploring new sounds, working with top musicians from Sweden and abroad, and blending genres in creative ways. GJO is all about promoting jazz in Gothenburg, playing with joy and energy, supporting young talent, and inviting unique guests and themes to their shows.

This concert is presented in collaboration with the Monica Zetterlund Society.
