The surly Ingmar (Robert Gustafsson) lives a routine life in a small village in Småland. His wife passed away a few years ago and he has started to lose touch with his daughter Erika (Emelia Sallhag). The only thing he has left is his annoying, divorced neighbor Burman (Jonas Karlsson) and his wife's roses, which are really the only things he cares about. To top it all off, it's the hottest and driest summer in living memory. Everyone is waiting for the rain that never seems to come. But through what may be a miracle, or maybe just pure coincidence, Ingmar finally gets to play the lead role in something that will change not only his life, but the entire village's existence or, yes, maybe even the entire world.
