ALEXANDER*A
A guest performance at Playhouse Teater.
ALEXANDER * A is multimedia performance immersing the audience in the world of Alexandra Kollontai — a revolutionary, diplomat, and one of the key figures of early socialist feminism in the twentieth century.
The performance explores Kollontai’s political and personal legacy, on stage, her ideas about freedom, labor, love, the body, and revolution collide with the present moment, in which questions of power, violence, exile, and female subjectivity once again become urgently relevant. Rather than attempting a historical reconstruction, the project transforms Kollontai’s figure into a space of dialogue between past and present, between utopia and disillusionment, between political imagination and the experience of displacement.
