What happens when language gets cracked open, reassembled, and shot through with jazz, noise, and needle-static? Enter the elusive alchemy of Matiah Chinaski & DJ Pérez—a duo whose craft walks a tightrope between poetic realism and sonic sabotage.

Matiah Chinaski and DJ Pérez are two of Chile’s most singular voices in experimental hip hop, both as founding members of Mente Sabia Crú and through a string of defiant side-projects. From Baladi (2009) to No te creo pero gracias (2024), their catalog is a restless excavation of inner worlds, dystopian futures, and the raw nerve of lived experience. DJ Pérez’s turntablism and warped production meet Matiah’s smoke-drenched delivery in a zone where classic boom bap gets pulled apart and rewired through jazz, psychedelia, and political memory.
Together, they’ve lit up stages across Europe and Latin America—from Primavera Sound to The Great Escape—bringing their fractured narratives and razor-edged beats to audiences hungry for something beyond the algorithm. Matiah’s voice, equal parts prophet and prankster, drifts easily from haunting introspection to irreverent wit, while DJ Pérez sculpts vinyl into a labyrinth of off-grid rhythms and hallucinatory loops.
Their universe is deeply collaborative—rooted in scenes but never confined by them—linking with artists like La Brígida Orquesta, Anita Tijoux, Franz Mesko, and Sadat X to build a cross-border sonic commons.
