Wednesday 13th May 2026 at Encore, Sundbyberg Stockholm Weapon celebrate the ‘Digital’ release of ‘Ain’t No Preacher’ The highly anticipated first single from their forthcoming album ‘Strength & Honour’ I co wrote the lyrics with my best mate, and original Weapon bassist, the late Baz Downes back in the 80’s but the demo got misplaced/lost over the years. I wanted to honour Baz by including it on the album and thankfully my current co-writer, and great friend, Robert Majd came up with a perfect piece of music to fit the lyric.. To add to the tribute my son Elliot played on the track using Baz’s bass, gifted to me by his sister Sherley after he passed away ❤️
Joining us on the bill are Carpet Dime & Headrush. Carpet Dime is a hard rock band that emerged from the Nordic underground rock scene with the ambition to combine raw energy with melodic heft. The band formed in Stockholm in the late 2010s by musicians who shared a love for classic hard rock, grunge and modern alternative metal – and a common frustration with bland rock music.
The name Carpet Dime reflects the band’s aesthetic: something that feels mundane and worn on the surface, but which hides an unexpected value and a sharp edge. Musically, they are characterized by down-tuned guitars, massive riffs, dynamic drum arrangements and lyrics that move between self-reflection, social criticism and dark humor.
Over time, Carpet Dime has developed a nuanced sound where aggressive parts coexist with atmospheric calm, which has given them a loyal audience that appreciates both the weight and the feeling. For the band, hard rock is not just about volume and attitude, but about honesty, blackness and daring to let it rub. Carpet Dime continues to be a band in constant motion – always ready to scrape up the carpet and show what really lies underneath.
Headrush are a vibrant group of 20 year old Stockholm based musicians who began their journey performing as a 4 piece under the name Heave in 2025. After some lineup changes—replacing a guitarist and adding a dynamic lead singer—they evolved into Headrush, embracing a fresh identity. Their sound is a powerful blend inspired by legendary rock and metal bands like Alice In Chains, Pantera, and Soundgarden. Drawing from grunge, heavy riffs, and intense vocals. The lineup includes my son Elliot on bass guitar.
