Queen Kristina is one of the most fascinating cultural figures in Swedish history. After abdicating the throne and converting to Catholicism, she spent her last years in Italy. There, she encouraged a number of composers who dedicated their masterpieces to her. The Wermland Early Music Festival offers a magnificent performance of music, song and dance in her honor!
