For many years, Reinhold Friedl and Lars Åkerlund have crossed paths at festivals and venues around the world. In February 2024, they finally met in Berlin to record Verve / Instinkt, which is now being released.
Merging grand piano and electronics, they create intense, improvised music where the boundaries between instrument and electronics disappear. Friedl transforms the piano into a strange sound machine, while Åkerlund’s analogue synthesizer and digital tools generate vast waves of sound.
