Following her acclaimed performance in Romeo and Juliet, superstar Nadine Sierra takes on yet another seductive French heroine, the irresistible title character Manon in Massenet's passionate drama. Broadcast live from the Met to cinemas worldwide, April 3, 2027.

Massenet's Manon features one of opera's truly unforgettable, irresistible and archetypal female characters. Although the story is clearly rooted in the class and gender issues of the time, the character of Manon herself is timeless, compelling and familiar.

The opera has been a success since its premiere in 1884 and has been performed by a long line of singers who have appreciated its dramatic possibilities, refined style and captivating music.

Leading tenor Matthew Polenzani plays her idealistic lover, the Chevalier des Grieux, and rising baritone Andrzej Filończyk plays her faithful cousin, Lescaut, in a breathtaking production by director Laurent Pelly.

Press quote: “High notes that spanned like liquid gold … Sierra reached operatic heaven” – The New York Times (review of Nadine Sierra in Romeo and Juliet).
