This week's Art Quarter explores the remarkable story of an extraordinary man with an ambitious vision. Art collector, businessman, and gardening enthusiast Rasmus Meyer (1858–1916) set himself the goal of "collecting works by every artist who had made a significant contribution to Norwegian painting."
How did he achieve this? Why was his collection donated to the city of Bergen? And how is Meyer portrayed in the grand portrait that hangs in the Rasmus Meyer Collection?
