Welcome to a weekend filled with art, nature and creative activities at Kode!
We invite families with children to step into the enchanting world of Engel and Nikolai Astrup. Here, we encounter people in nature, hidden figures and fascinating stories. Through play, exploration and creativity, we get to know the Astrup family and their art.
Programme – Saturday 10 October and Sunday 11 October
11 am–4 pm, Permanenten: Pattern Workshop for All Ages
Create stencils featuring patterns and ornaments inspired by the Art Nouveau style, characterised by soft, elegant lines and organic, nature-inspired forms. The stencils can then be used for painting.
11 am–4 pm, Lysverket: Engel Workshop for All Ages
Join a creative workshop inspired by Engel Astrup, who made her own stamps to decorate clothes.
Make your own stamps and print patterns onto textiles. Together, we will decorate Engel’s dress and Nikolai Astrup’s painting smock. You can also bring your own garment, such as a T-shirt, to decorate.
Throughout the day, small musical pop-up experiences will appear in the workshop, featuring songs inspired by folk music and Nikolai Astrup’s paintings.
Sunday 11 October only, 12–1 pm: Art Expedition at Rasmus Meyer
Join us on an expedition to Nikolai Astrup’s home region of Jølster! Use your eyes, ears, hands and imagination as we explore Astrup’s art and universe.
The expedition continues in the workshops at Permanenten or Lysverket, where you can keep exploring at your own pace.
Welcome to a creative weekend inspired by Engel and Nikolai Astrup!
