FREE JAZZ AND IMPROVISATION
Featuring: Edith Steyer - Klarinet Anne Efternøler - Trompet Jonathan Aardestrup - Kontrabas + Hein Westgaard - Guitar Martin Klapper - Objects
EDITH STEYER a free improvising and composing clarinet and saxophone player, rooted in jazz and contemporary classical music. With a background in social anthropology, I also have a deep interest in ethnic and traditional music, which has led me to perform with West African ensembles alongside musicians from Senegal and Ghana.
My artistic focus lies in exploring the sonic possibilities of my instruments—often preparing them with musical tools or everyday objects. I also experiment with electronics and feedback, blending acoustic textures with extended techniques and live processing.
While developing a solo concept remains important to me, my primary passion is creating intricate, collaborative soundscapes and dynamic, noise-infused interactions with other artists.

ANNE EFTERNØLER Anne Efternøler is a trumpet player, improviser and composer based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Efternøler works in the field of improvisation and modern/contemporary music primarily on the Scandinavian scenes. Her artistic output is characterized by a strong intuitive, or even emotional, connection to both her co-performers and the audience, as well as a distinctive relationship to her instrument, which she considers a percussion instrument as much as a wind instrument.
JONATHAN AARDESTRUP Copenhagen based musician, composer, producer and organiser, Jonathan Aardestrup, has always seeked to balance his expressive output between the unconventional and the catchy. A free-spirited double bass player who is always seeking to break new ground in denial of pointless repetition, leading to a continuous investigation of new possibilities in composed original music, improvisation, field recordings and the correlation of the three. Very active on the Copenhagen scene and across Europe for the last 10 years.
