Aalborg
Fallen Flags brings together four musicians from across the Nordic scene for a unique, genre-bending collaboration. Rooted in alternative music, experimental jazz, and free improvisation, the ensemble will complete an intensive three-day residency at KORMA in Aalborg before presenting two concerts in Aarhus and Aalborg. These will both be completely improvised and a ‘once in a lifetime experience’
Rasa Vaštakaitė (LT) — Drums
A Lithuanian drummer, producer, and composer who moves freely between avant-garde jazz, improvised music, and pop. Vaštakaitė leads several instrumental projects and has also released DIY albums as a singer and producer.
Jakob Bakkevoll (NO) — Bass & Electronics
A Bergen-based musician, producer, and organizer exploring the extremes of sound, experimental jazz, and electronic music. He has toured Europe with Huligans, performed alongside artists like Lotte Anker and Isach Skeidsvoll, and joined Paal Nilssen-Love's commissioned work for the Vestnorsk Jazzensemble (premiered at Nattjazz 2026). Bakkevoll is also active in groups such as Travbahn and Paper Steps.
** Martin Vollertsen (DK) — Piano**
A Danish jazz composer and pianist whose musical approach is shaped by curiosity, authenticity, and a focus on artistic meaning. Vollertsen’s music acts as a collage of impressions, putting honest expression at the center to create compositions that speak to both mind and heart.
** Erik Lunde (DK) — Trumpet**
An Aalborg-based trumpeter, improviser, and composer whose sound has been described as "Palle Mikkelborg meets Radiohead." Lunde won the 2021 JazzDanmark Award at the Danish Music Awards Jazz for his work with the Impro Fauna concert series. He has earned "Album of the Week" honors on DR P8 Jazz, received grants from the Danish Arts Foundation, and sold out shows at venues such as the Thorvaldsen Museum during the Copenhagen Jazz Festival.
