The pursuit of BBQ mastery continues next summer at Holy Smoke BBQ as we bring the American South to Sweden July 24 and 25.
Making the trip will be two-time World BBQ Champion Charlie McKenna out of Chicago. Originally from Greenville, South Carolina, Charlie grew up around the hallowed places that define southern barbecue. This exposure planted the seed that would ultimately lead him to the famed Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, providing him the foundation to win Memphis in May and create Lillie’s Q, a brand known for their sleek design, top quality and modern approach to BBQ.
Joining Charlie will also be the renowned Carey Bringle of Pegleg Porker out of Nashville. Born and raised in Tennessee, Carey has developed quite the reputation in the BBQ world for his West Tennessee dry ribs, business acumen and all-around lively personality. Having cooked at the famed James Beard House not once, but twice, his messaging is unlike any other, weaving in comical stories and hard truths, in a manner that’ll surely inspire. If that wasn’t enough, Carey went on to found Pegleg Porker Spirts, an award winning Tennessee bourbon, which we’ll also have on-hand to sip and enjoy.
Charlie and Carey will share their extensive knowledge of live fire cooking and smoking meat, skills and techniques they’ve mastered over their storied careers in the competition and restaurant industries. This class will give you all the tools to create memorable experiences for your family and friends in your backyard or how to elevate your business.
Give the gift of BBQ this Christmas. See you around the pits next summer.
