The Edition Festival is pleased to announce that it’s third instalment will take place in Stockholm between 8-11 February 2018. Fylkingen, the long-running intermedia arts venue on Södermalm will again be the central venue with additional concerts taking place at dance company WELD and the central rotunda of the landmark, Gunnar Asplund designed Stadsbibliotek.

The programme draws on various strains of improvised and experimental music and the first artists confirmed include percussionist and recent MacArthur grantee Tyshawn Sorey’s trio with Cory Smythe (piano) and Nicholas Dunston (bass); a solo performance by Tomoko Sauvage; the duo of Daichi Yoshikawa (feedback) and Jean Luc Guionnet (saxophone); The Speaker — a new live multi-channel audio work by Pan Daijing, Valerio Tricoli and Werner Dafeldecker; and a specially commissioned new collaboration between Canadian composer Sarah Davachi and Stockholm’s own Ellen Arkbro.

Festival passes are now on sale.

Edition Festival is made possible with support from Musikverket, Stockholm Stad, Kulturrådet, The Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation and The Goethe Institut, Schweden and delivered in partnership with Fylkingen, Weld, Stockholm Stadsbibliotek and EMS.
